Our Commitment to Safeguarding Children and Young People

Wanslea has zero tolerance towards all types of child abuse and will act to keep children and young people safe. We place the safety of children and young people at the forefront of our operations and are always seeking to strengthen our child safe culture across programs and services.

We actively seek to provide child safe services through:

EMPOWERMENT: We prioritise child safety by involving and empowering children in decision-making, ensuring they know who to contact for help, and supporting those who report complaints or inappropriate behaviour.

INCLUSION: We uphold the rights of all children to safe, nurturing environments that honour their cultural identities and diversity, and we are committed to inclusivity for all children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and those from diverse backgrounds.

VIGILANCE: We ensure child safety through robust reporting, swift action, ongoing monitoring, continuous improvement based on National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, and accreditation by Australian Childhood Foundation.

RIGOUR: We maintain child safety through rigorous recruitment, clear conduct codes, ongoing staff development, stringent safety policies, and comprehensive training in safeguarding.

We are proudly accredited by the Australian Childhood Foundation for Safeguarding Children and Young People, a rigorous recognition that sets us apart. Our Safeguarding Accreditation provides affirmation for families, communities, and stakeholders that we uphold the highest standards in keeping children and young people safe, continuously striving for best practice and quality improvement.
