Foster Care Information Session

Our information sessions are designed to give people interested in becoming a foster carer more information, before they make any commitment. The sessions provide insight into the application process and what is involved when you become a foster carer.

The information session includes:

  • Some background information on Wanslea's Foster Care Program
  • An understanding of the purpose of foster care
  • Some insight into why children enter into care
  • Information of what Wanslea offers to its foster carers, including the carer support available
  • You will hear from a foster carer who will talk about their experience as a carer, and what happens when a child is placed with a foster carer
  • Information on the next steps - where to from here and the assessment process
  • A Q&A session
